The purpose of this course is that students become able to evaluate and operationalize the use of data collection and processing techniques, whether qualitative analysis, which focuses on the ethnographic and direct interaction and observational techniques and on content analysis, or quantitative, with the main focus on issues like validity, reliability and consistency of results and the use of multivariate statistics.
At the end of this course the students should be able to:
• Analyze the databases for each type of quantitative research, choosing the appropriate analysis techniques according to the goals and the variables present in the study;
• Reflect upon and apply various types of techniques and instruments of a qualitative nature and obtaining reliable results;
• Select and integrate into research practice the different methods and techniques of data analysis.
