From 23 to 25 June 2026, Lisbon will host U!REKA Connects 2026, the flagship annual conference of the U!REKA European University, bringing together hundreds of students, academics, researchers, institutional leaders and experts from partner institutions across Europe. Organised by the Polytechnic University of Lisbon, the event will have the ESCS as one of its main venues.

Hosting this international conference at ESCS is a recognition of the School’s capacity to welcome large-scale academic events and further strengthens its role as an active contributor to the development of the European Higher Education Area. As a leading institution in the fields of Communication, Media and Creative Industries, ESCS provides an ideal environment for knowledge exchange, critical discussion and collaboration among European higher education institutions.

Under the theme “From Ideas to Action: Building Urban Solutions”, U!REKA Connects 2026 will explore collaborative teaching and learning approaches, smart and sustainable cities, inclusion in higher education and the continued development of the U!REKA community through keynote sessions, workshops, project presentations and networking opportunities.

By welcoming participants from across Europe, ESCS reinforces its international outlook and its commitment to innovation, sustainability and the development of collaborative networks that help address the challenges facing contemporary cities and European societies.
