The fourth session of the IPL2033 initiative took place at ESCS, with the aim of reflecting on the future of the Polytechnic of Lisbon. Promoted by the IPL General Council, in close coordination with the IPL Presidency, the IPL2033 project aims to strategically consider the institution’s future throughout the 2025/2026 academic year, through a series of initiatives to be held across the various Schools of the Polytechnic of Lisbon.

Under the theme “What do we want IPL to be in eight years’ time?”, the initiative brought together lecturers at the Vítor Macieira Auditorium on 9 March 2026, who contributed with their interventions to the project, which seeks to define objectives for the future, identify priorities, structure processes, mobilise resources and establish intermediate targets, thereby contributing to the development of a shared strategy for the institution’s growth.

Meanwhile, David Justino, President of the General Council, highlighted the relevance of communication for the future of IPL, calling for deeper reflection on how the institution identifies itself to students and the wider community, and stressing the need to strengthen investment in this area.
