The School of Communication and Media Studies (ESCS) of the Polytechnic University of Lisbon (IPL) will host the National AI-HED Event – Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education: Good Practices and Resources for the Integration of AI in Teaching and Learning on 9 July 2026.
The event will bring together lecturers, researchers and education professionals to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with the use of Artificial Intelligence in academic settings, promoting the exchange of knowledge, experiences and resources that support its responsible and effective integration into teaching and learning processes.
The programme will begin at 2:00 pm with a welcome coffee, followed by the opening session. One of the highlights of the event will be the keynote address, “AI and Its Biases”, delivered by Professor António Lopes (ISCTE-IUL), which will explore some of the critical issues surrounding the development and use of these technologies.
Throughout the afternoon, the results of the integration of Artificial Intelligence into curricular units will be presented in a session led by Professor Tatiana Nunes (ESCS-IPL/LIACOM), alongside examples of good practice developed in classroom settings, presented by Professor Vera Moutinho (ESCS-IPL/LIACOM).
The event will also include a session dedicated to the resources available to support the integration of AI into teaching and learning processes, led by Professor Bruno Amaral (ESCS-IPL), and will conclude with a reflective discussion on the use of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education, facilitated by Professor Ana Raposo (ESCS-IPL/LIACOM).
As part of the European AI-HED project, this event aims to contribute to a critical, ethical and pedagogically sound use of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education, fostering debate on its implications and transformative potential for education.
Registration is free of charge and open until 2 July 2026 via the online form available at: https://ai-hed.eu/national-events/
