On December 15, 2025, the new edition of the Revista Comunicação Pública was released and is now available for consultation in open access on the IPL Journals website.

Comunicação Pública #39 (Vol. 20) corresponds to an issue with a Thematic Dossier dedicated to the topic “Public Service Media and Innovation” and is edited by Elton Bruno Pinheiro and Luís António Santos, researchers at the Communication and Society Research Centre of the University of Minho.

This dossier proposes an analytical reflection on Public Service Media from a multidimensional perspective on innovation, understood not only in its technological sense but also in its symbolic, social, political, and cultural dimensions. The collected texts address contemporary challenges such as disinformation, hate speech, science denialism, citizen participation, democracy, and the role of public media in the socio-digital context.
 

About the journal

Comunicação Pública is a scientific journal founded in 2005 at the School of Communication and Media Studies of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon (ESCS). Published biannually, in June and December, the journal adopts a rigorous peer-review system and presents itself as a multidisciplinary space for reflection on forms of human communication, in open access.

Call for papers

The submission of articles for the journal’s next thematic dossier, dedicated to the topic “SUSTAINABILITY, GREENWASHING AND CONSUMER BEHAVIOUR,” is open until March 2, 2026. Issue No. 40 will be published in June 2026.
