Enquadramento da masterclass:

This talk will introduce the current methods and techniques considered for the development of eXtended Reality (XR), including augmented and virtual reality. The presentation includes current considerations for interaction techniques in different areas such as science, education, and communication. Lopez Silva will present an array of examples and demonstrations of XR and pose questions about the future and current developments in the area. What are the upcoming opportunities to develop XR?

Nota biográfica de Brenda Lopez Silva:

Brenda Lopez Silva is a researcher and technologist based in Silicon Valley. She is a contractor with the US Department of Energy’s Argonne National Laboratory, where she develops interactive environments for science and education.

Brenda is a faculty member in the Department of Art and Technology Studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). She teaches immersive technologies and metaverse courses. Currently, Lopez Silva is a US Fulbright Scholar teaching eXtended Reality (XR) in the School of Communication and Media Studies at the Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa, Portugal.

Lopez Silva served as the director of the Realization lab in the Learning Sciences Research Institute at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she led the design and implementation of learning technologies and materials for formal and informal educational settings.
