Objectives

The CU of Social Analysis aims to constitute an approach of Social Sciences, particularly the heritage of Anthropology and Sociology, which provide knowledge and operative tools for better insights and analysis of contemporary social phenomena, marked by the density, complexity and fluidity of societies in globalization and great dynamics, both internally and in its intercultural and transterritorial relationships, focusing on institutional processes, power relations and social differentiation, and the dynamics of communication and technological transformation. It also presents an introduction to epistemological issues concerning the construction of knowledge and understanding of social experience and an approach to the dimensions of expression and symbolic communication in social groups. It also seeks to make links with the other areas within the Social Sciences and with the specific training areas of each ESCS course.
