This course aims to introduce the students to the main theoretical foundations of the journalistic field in articulation with several practical exercises performed in class. Learning the basic techniques of journalistic writing will be done gradually, taking into account the different contexts and rhytms of news production.

Thus, it is intended that students:

- Know the principles, ritms and constraints of journalistic practice;

- Develop a critical reading of newspapers and other media writings;

- Understand the (social and organizational) contexts in which processes the news selection, investigation and writing;

- Acquire the basics of journalistic writing, its specificities and its expression forms;

- Practice different types of journalistic texts, particularly informative and interpretative ones.
