This course is the capstone of the minor. Students apply multimedia storytelling, climate reporting and data visualization skills to produce professional-quality climate journalism projects.
Working individually or in teams, students pitch, research and produce multimedia stories communicating climate science, impacts and solutions.
Projects may combine:
● video storytelling
● podcast and audio formats
● photography and visual reporting
● data visualization
● interactive longform storytelling
Students work in a newsroom-style environment, developing editorial workflows and receiving mentoring from teachers and professional journalists.
This programme culminates in the Climate Journalism Lab Showcase, a public presentation and digital platform that hosts the multimedia stories developed by students throughout the minor.
The showcase functions as:
● a digital editorial space for climate storytelling
● a portfolio platform for participating students
Selected projects may be published through partner media organisations or the programme’s digital platform.
