Writing for Feature Films (I)
Submitted by escs on 7 January 2026
Objectives

This course is structured in two stages, following the creative process for a feature film as closely as possible to a professional environment. The first part aims to provide students with the tools they need to create a script for a feature film, accompanying and practising the entire first part of the process: defining the idea, research for the creation of the script, writing all the complementary texts that will be used in the second semester.

Skills

By the end of this first phase, students should be able to correctly apply the formatting rules for a film script; identify and critically analyse structures and devices used in scriptwriting. Students should also understand the importance of research for the creation of fictional worlds and the writing of supporting texts, and understand their typology.
